Lowering credit limit
I have a Lowe's credit card Ge money has lowered my credit line 2 times . my minimum payment is 15.00 per month i pay anywhere from 50.00 to 100.00 per month.every time i send more money they drop my limit. I guess they like the 15.00 payers to get more interest i must be a threat to them because they are not collecting much interest on me.I think everyone that Ge money has done this to should get a response for them personally. when i pay this off iam closing my credit account

G E Money is a rip off
I had a credit limit of $4000 and only borrowed $2100 during a promo for 1 yr. I paid this co. approximately $100 a month without interest which brought the bill down to $1000 at the end of the promo, which I probably should have paid off. The interest had accrued to over $850 in which I've paid them at least $1100 more. My bill is still in $1800, for some reason I can't lower this bill. Do not deal with this company I'm telling everyone I know. It's almost no use to complain to the company but I'm not going to roll over and let them get away with it. At the rate this bill is going I'll never pay them off. I've never experienced a company with such un-ethical practices in all my life. These are some crooks they are stealing from the consumers and the government needs to look into there financial records to see how many people have been ripped off or are being ripped off. I pay my debts, but this is ridiclously keeping me indebted to them. This type of finance co. must be associated with loan sharks and probably has caused a lot of economical woes to consumers. So, more than credit card company's need to be investigated, finance company's too.

Will not stop calling to harass us about late fees
Charges late fees even when I sent registered mail. I have to send numerous letters and even after they write back to credit my account with late fees and finance charges, will not stop calling. They call at all hours of the day/night and any day of the week. I have repeatedly told them to stop calling as my mother is terminal and doesn't need the harassment. Will not let me speak for her even though we have written asking them to do so since she is sick and I have power of attorney. They use auto dial and then we have to wait and wait and wait to talk to someone and then they are extremely rude. I had Brian the last time and I asked if he spoke English (since I've had non conversations with some customer service people that don't speak English or pretend not to) to which his response was "What kind of question is that". Not yes maam, or How can I help you? Repeatedly asked him not to call - asked to speak to my ill mother, said he would call back. I said no I am speaking on her behalf and kept asking if she was there to talk with. I realize that they are doing their jobs but this is NOT any way to treat customers especially after I read a letter that I received just 1 hour prior that stated that all charges were being taken off the account. In 1 week, they should have received notice from the Texas office that the charges were removed and yet they still call and have continued to do so until the present day. The last thing my sick mother needs is to be harassed by these calls since it is so difficult for her to even answer the phone. She has been a responsible single mother all her life, always paying her bills and on time and this is just unacceptable to be treated in this manner. I've decided that I am going to pursue this farther to anyone who will listen and I am presently writing a letter to the Attorney General's office.

Doesnt paying on time and being a good coustermer mean inythin now days? I lwats used the card especially on the road. Mabe they got teedoff when i cancelled a road travel club because i didnt us it and cancelled. That was $7.50 a month. The big company get bigger and the small ones get eat up. Joe

Ge money lowered my credit after 2 years with walmart
I have never missed a payment or went over my credit limit. With out notice they lowered my credit limit at christmas time.guess who didnt get my business this year.so far they haven't lowered my lowes account.this isn't far to the people who pay their bills.what will happen when my credit shows over the limit now, because they reduced my limit?if i spent 500 dollars, and my credit limit is lowered by 200 dollars, then it shows i am 200 dollars over the limit, that has to hurt my credit score.I have paid off my account,ge money bank, and walmart will get no more of my money.

GE Money stonewalling
If anyone is going forth with a class action suit against GE Money I'd be interested. There was an illegal charge against our account. We contacted Frauds and Disputes. We've e-mailed, faxed, called and written. NO ONE returns our calls. We want to get this settled, but we can't get a response. We continue to get billed (including late charges) during this "investigation". I'm ready to call in the Media. Their business is disorganized, if not unethical. I've faxed the president, the person in charge of media, the Dispute Department and the Fraud Department repeatedly to no avail. Any other suggestions out there???

RIP OFF GE, HIGH FINANCE CHARGE, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
I WAS INFORMED ABOUT THIS LOAN WITH NO INTEREST FOR 18 MONTHS PROMOTION AND HAD PHONE CALL TO EXTEND THE PROMOTIONAL TERMS TO 24 MONTHS. SO I SIGNED UP AND COMPLETELY PUT ASIDE THE OBLIGAION TO PAY OFF QUICKER ALTHOUGH IT WAS POSSIBLE. BUT AT THE END OF 12 MONTHS, I WAS CHARGED A HUGE AMOUNT OF FINANCE CHARGE ADDED TO THE ACCOUNT. ICALLED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND THE PERSON WHO INTRODUCED AS STEPHANIE. SHE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, VERY QUICK AND DON'T SEEM TO LISTEN THE REQUEST. SHE SEEMED TO RUSH TO HANG UP. SHE NOT ONLY DIDN'T HELP BUT SHE WANTED TO SIGN ME UP FOR SOME PROTECTION PLAN TO HELP BUT SHE DIDN'T WANT TO EXPLAIN HOW IT WOULD HELP OR WHAT IT IS. SHE READ SOMETHING THEN SHE SAID THAT IT WOULD COST $1.50 FOR $100. I SAID, NO I AM NOT SIGNING UP FOR IT. SHE SAID I HAVE TO CALL THE ANOTHER NUMBER TO CANCEL THIS.

Poor Customer Service
I made a mistake with an online payment with GE, type in 1300.00, should have been 130.00. I contacted customer service, was told to make a phone payment of 130.00, and the online payment would be voided. This did not happened, both payments cleared my bank, I contacted GE to take care of this problem, since I followed their instructions, I was told that even though they pulled up the records and saw the notes about the instructions given, that nothing could be done because their customer service rep gave the wrong instructions. I find this total not good customer service at all. They need to be fined for this type of service. My name is Derrick Bellamy, home number is 704-395-****.

Rude and Misinformed Collection agents
I recieved a call from GE Money for a stepchild who no longer lives with us. They were trying to contact the stepchild's natural father. I politely informed them that she no longer lived here and we have no contact with her father. Over the next 36 hours we received an additional 6 phone calls. The foreign call center operators' rudeness increased with each call. I eventually had to call and speak to a supervisor and strongly insist they remove my number. I am a customer, (I have one of their credit cards) and am not the subject of any collection effort. Me and my family do not deserve to be called by rude foreign call service employees with bad English. I plan to pay of my card and never do business with GE Money again!

GE Money tried to steal money from us
Getting me teeth fixed cost around $6000, I was steered toward GE Money and it sounded pretty good. I knew the ramifications of being late, but I wouldn't let that happen. I didn't let it happen, all payments were made on time, even according to their own web site. Basically they tried to say that there was a late fee still in the mix and we still owed them something like $49. And I knew that if I agreed and just paid the $49 to get them off our backs, after many harassing phone calls, they would say that was proof enough to kick in the $1900 interest charge. We stood fast and got GE's rep to agree to drop the collection scam. We'll see. It hasn't been taken off yet, but it is still early. I called my dentist and let them know what kind of business they were dealing with and said I would not be able to use that dentist again as long as GE was their financing arm. Call the businesses you purchase from and complain about GE.

GE Money
I agree that there should be a lawsuit against this company. The deserve to get a butt kicking from the consumers they have totally ripped off!! Join the crowd and sue their butts!!!! This company has gotten away with ripping off the consumer for tooooo long. I have never in my life have a company that will not work with you. A payment of $24 per/mo sounds great but they don't lower the interest rate, late fees and charged you over-the-limit fees. How are you ever going to get the card paid off when all the extra charges are more than your monthly payment. I would have to pay at least $200-300 a month to even put a dent in paying the bill off. I hope there is a lawsuit against them for totally ripping off the consumer.

GE Money is not work with anybody on their debt!
I had an account with GE Money and fell on tough times. I called them and they put me on their hardship plan. I missed one payment and they immediately took me off the program. They won't lower the interest rate to help me out. Then they charged me outrageous interest rates, over the limit charge, and a late fee, which is more than my monthly payment. I will never be able to pay this card off. The company is the worst company for any consumer to get involved in--DON'T do it--It's not worth it.

Foul language used by G.E.'s phone harrassers
My motherar has been harrasssed by GE money for many months now, they just keep adding late charges to her account even after she agreed to a "hardship settlement" with them and ept her end of the bargain. I answered her phone one day when she was at the drugstore and the guy identified himself as calling about her Dillards/Ge money acct. I politely said "she is not here, right now" :Where in the *** is she" he fairly screamed at me. I asked him "what did you just say?" He then said "did I stutter missy?" and immediately hung up. really ugly people and horrible unfair service.

I just had this same issue. I sent in a $100 payment with my mind payment being $25. 2 weeks later I got a credit line lowering letter.
:( same with me lowered credit limit from 3500 to 1500 without notification
GE/LOWES lowered my credit limit from $2,000.00 to $1,750.00. I am paying on time. Never late.
GE Money Bank has got to go. I am reading the stories above and I can relate to all of them.
I make all of my payments on time with and always pay well over the minimum and they keep lowering my Lowes credit limit. I am done with them.
Just got notified that GE/LOWES has lowered my credit limit for the 3rd time. That's right - 3rd.
I have not made new purchases in 1.5 years, have nevr even been an hour late with my payment, and always pay more than the minimum amount due.
This really screws with my credit score since it looks like I'v maxed the card out, since all limit cuts were to within $100 of my balance. :(
So here's my question. So they've effectively already damaged my credit score.
And then they want to hike my payments. So I refused to pay the accelerated pay schedule. My original terms are paid in full by 7/2011. I told them they lost their incentive to penalize me when they closed my account.
Do they have repossession authority? I'm seriously considering not paying them anymore at all and applying that money to a creditor who WANTS my business.
I woke up this morning and decided to check my balances on all my paid off cards just to see what the credit lines were in case I was going to use them for Christmas. Well I got the same answer that everyone on this website got...either a closed card or a credit line dropped to $125.00 dollars.
NO NOTIFICATION AT ALL! I am calling these bozos today to complain and ask for a manager to reinstate my credit lines. Regardless of whether or not the cards are paid off I should have received notification for these changes.
I am actually not too mad because the cards are paid off HOWEVER this does affect all consumers credit lines. I am seriously considering taking the plunge and closing these cards ASAP.
Used GE Money Bank's HH Gregg card to purchase an air conditioner. Good thing my mother works at the same bank I bank with because alerted me right away that GE Money Bank double-dipped into my checking account for two withdrawals of $250.07.
During the dispute of this, the customer service rep. at GE Money Bank tacked on "account insurance" after I specifically told him "No!" After raising all sorts of *** with GE Money Bank, I received two pre-fabricated letters of apology.
Point being, watch your accounts like a hawk. They bank on YOU not paying attention.
GEMB is lowering credit limits and closing accounts on everyone.
We had our Lowes account closed outright because we didn't carry a balance. That's right...10 years with Lowes and a $4000 credit limit gone. Not only did the account closure ding our credit score, but it also raised our debt ratio causing our credit score to drop. It's difficult enough as it is to maintain a good credit score in this economic climate, but when customers are penalized for GOOD payment practices, something is dreadfully wrong.
This practice should be criminal, but it isn't. About the only thing that we, as consumers, can do is refuse to do business on any level, cash or credit, with any store using GEMB as their credit guarantor. This would include Wal-Mart, Lowes, J.C. Penny, PayPal Buyer Credit and many others. Perhaps if we can hit these places where they'll notice (their profit margins), they'll get a clue. Also, don't be afraid to write to the corporate headquarters for Wal-Mart, Lowes or wherever and let them know that you are not happy and you'll be taking your business elsewhere. Then DO it!
:(
I recently had my Wamart / GE Bank credit line reduced to $100.00. I received a letter stating the reduction was due to my Credit report / purchase history.
I have a credit monitoring service and GE Bank has not checked my credit since 12-2008.
I now realize that because I paid the balance off in full they reduced my credit limit. Looks like it will be Target from now on.
